Volunteer
Over the years, Walter Gefrom has volunteered his time and resources to numerous nonprofits and charitable organizations. On a regular basis, he helps the members of his church and the local community by volunteering with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). Gefrom has also volunteered with Just Serve and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineerings (SHPE), which he was formerly a member of. An outdoorsman in his own right, Gefrom served as a Cub Master and Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
ACE Mentor at Patrick Henry High School
Drawing on his years of experience as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager, Walter Gefrom volunteered at Patrick Henry HS as an ACE Mentor. In this experience, Gefrom had the opportunity to meet with high school students interested in architecture and engineering. Discussing their passions and plans for the future was an incredibly fulfilling experience for Gefrom. The Civil Engineer deeply valued the chance to encourage the next generation of engineers to reach their fullest potential.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness & Advocacy
Walter Gefrom is a proud supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
For many years, Walter Gefrom has donated to and participated in Walk MS events. Focused on raising awareness, Walk MS are events that advocate for continued research on multiple sclerosis (MS). Unfortunately, little is understood about MS, a neurological disorder which is often classified as an autoimmune disease. Gefrom is passionate about raising awareness for MS because he believes this form of advocacy could lead to major changes for the MS warriors fighting through their condition.
