Hit the Bricks is back for the summer once again.  And it’s full of all the family fun Texas residents love to enjoy!  When Walter Gefrom says ‘it’s back,’ he means it because this year, the Classic Car Show will be back in both July and August, each second Saturday of the month.  Hit the Bricks has become beloved in the area for its antique car shows, food vendors and so much more!  This event is free for visitors and $20 per car (if you’d like to have your pride and joy featured in the event, that is).  But even if you’re not a lover of antique automobiles, Gefrom still believes you’ll have a great time at this downtown Tyler event.  So be sure to check it out!

MS Society of Canada’s MS Bike

June 22, 2022 by Walter Gefrom Leave a Comment

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada has officially opened MS Bike: an annual cycling event that aims to raise awareness and funds necessary to continue research on the disease. MS Advocate Walter Gefrom discuses:

The MS Bike is back — finally!  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awareness-focused fundraising event was held virtually in 2020 and 2021.  But the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is so happy to get back to in-person cycling events in 2022!  However, the virtual options are still available, for participants who prefer to show their support from home (or anywhere else around the world, for that matter).  Walter Gefrom encourages Canadians to support this endeavor and as always, spread awareness of MS and what it is like to live with this disease.  MS Warriors unite!

If you’re located in the Chicago area and love classic cars, you’re in for a treat!  The Oak Park Vintage Car Club and Oak Park River Forest Museum are slated to host a 60 car collection from local auto historians, history hobbyists and car enthusiasts.  The best part is: the car owners will be there with their pride and joy vehicles!  This gives you the chance to ask any questions about anything you’d like to learn about each automobile.  This event is free, family friendly and full of fun opportunities to enjoy the sunny weather.  So why not check it out?  Walter Gefrom also recommends showing your support to the Oak Park community in any way that you can.

World MS Day is on May 30th

May 25, 2022 by Walter Gefrom Leave a Comment

On May 30, 2022, friends and family will gather (in hopefully wonderful weather) to celebrate Memorial Day. But did you know that May 30th is also World MS Day this year? Walter Gefrom features the significant awareness-raising holiday:

Walter Gefrom World MS Day Memorial Day

Every year, multiple sclerosis awareness advocates, MS warriors and their support networks shine the spotlight on the disease for World MS Day.  This year, the event will take place on May 30th, the same date as Memorial Day.  Nevertheless, Walter Gefrom believes that World MS Day still deserves recognition on this date.  Since 2020, the theme of the campaign has been “connections.”  As we gather outdoors for our BBQ events with family and friends, that theme is echoed; making the shared date quite fitting for the two holidays.

Across the world, events will be celebrated throughout the months of May and June in honor of those living with MS.  To learn more about an event or activity being hosted near you, be sure to check out the official website for the MS Connections Campaign, which is set to run thru 2022 and 2023.

Few drivers are offered the chance to enjoy the wonder of driving a classic car. And when they do, it’s either a jalopy or it costs an arm and a leg to pull into the driveway! But what if you’re not a collector? If you’re a classic car enthusiast who dreams of driving (before owning) a classic car, you’re in luck! You can rent an antique automobile at Clay’s Classics!

The following cars are available for rent:

  • 1959 Ford F-100
  • 1964 Ford Mustang
  • 1964 Buick Skylark
  • 1964 Ford Galaxie 500
  • 1966 Ford Mustang

All rental rides are straight from the owner’s personal collection.  This is a unique opportunity that you certainly won’t find at your run of the mill vehicle rental service.
